iPhone Air

The iPhone Air is 5.6 mm thick and weighs 165 g, yet it has a 6.5-inch ProMotion display and the A19 Pro chip, with one fewer graphics core than the iPhone 17 Pro's. The compromises are deliberate: one rear camera, a single speaker, a smaller battery than the 17 Pro's, and no SIM tray.

Highlights

• Display: 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR (OLED) with ProMotion up to 120 Hz and Always-On, behind Ceramic Shield 2.
• Chip: A19 Pro with a 5-core GPU.
• Camera: 48 MP Fusion, which also gives a 2x optical-quality zoom. 18 MP Centre Stage front camera.
• Battery: up to 27 hours of video playback when new.
• Build: titanium frame with Ceramic Shield on the front and back. Rated IP68 when new (6 metres for up to 30 minutes).

Good to know

• SIM: eSIM only. There is no SIM tray, so check that your network can give you an eSIM before you buy.
• Charging: USB-C (USB 2 speeds for data), MagSafe and Qi2 up to 20 W.
• Buttons: Camera Control and the Action button.
• Apple Intelligence: supported.
• Water: seals age, and a repair can disturb them, so treat the water rating as protection from splashes and spills rather than a reason to take it swimming.
