iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone 14 Pro replaced the notch with the Dynamic Island, a cut-out that expands to show timers, calls and what is playing. It was also the first iPhone with a 48 MP main camera and an Always-On display.

Highlights

• Display: 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (OLED) with ProMotion up to 120 Hz, Always-On, and up to 2000 nits outdoors.
• Chip: A16 Bionic.
• Cameras: 48 MP Main, 12 MP Ultra Wide (with macro) and 12 MP Telephoto (3x optical zoom), LiDAR Scanner, Action mode, Apple ProRAW and ProRes video. 12 MP front camera with autofocus.
• Battery: up to 23 hours of video playback when new.
• Build: Ceramic Shield front, matte glass back, stainless-steel frame. Rated IP68 when new (6 metres for up to 30 minutes).

Good to know

• Charging: Lightning, MagSafe and Qi wireless pads.
• Safety: Crash Detection.
• SIM: a nano-SIM and an eSIM, except on phones first sold in the US, which are eSIM-only.
• Water: seals age, and a repair can disturb them, so treat the water rating as protection from splashes and spills rather than a reason to take it swimming.
